Pursue your family history research through the WELCH and BLACKSHEAR surname boards/forums, and the locations they resided in.
There are some some really helpful folk, who often have real good knowledge on a specific name/family or location.

BLACKSHEAR is one of those names that has numerous (and imaginative !) spelling variations.
