Pat,
Thats an O.K. piece of trivia about a rock in northeast Texas, but it hasn't much to do with American Indian genealogy. Your source is conflicted with information from other sources in regard to the Indian People who used the rock (e.g. *The Handbook of Texas*). The details don't matter too much, since it is an interesting tidbit so long as one doesn't leap into unfounded conclusions about any ancestors in Upshur county.

A number of Indian peoples hunted in and traveled through the area. And when the area was so populated the Indian people certainly had tools. They were not pre-historic people, but people of the last 200-300 years.
