If anyone out here has additional information on this family, PLEASE reply. Here are the facts as we know and have researched it. Need Julia's maiden name or parents name, please.
The family has always stated they are INDIAN. They moved sometime after the 1920 census but in time for the 1930 census from Holly Hill, Orangeburg, SC to Greensboro NC as a result of some trouble.
They changed their names from JACKSON TO AMAKER (possibly Lillie's [Lilly??] maiden name). In the 1930 Census and forward their race was changed on paper to reflect Negro(black). The 1920 and prior info shows them as either Mullatto or Indian with the exception of Julia who was listed in 1910 as white then on her death record (18 Jun 1918)as Non-White(White).
