I am looking for information on my gg-grandparents, William and Martha Jackson of Wythe Co., VA. On a death certificate from Russell Co., VA that I believe to be my Martha's, it states that her parents were William Arnold and Sallie Aker(s) of Wythe Co., VA. The Jacksons were living in Wythe Co. in 1880, according to the census in the Lead Mines area. On a birth record for their son Hickory, it lists the informant as grandmother, Martha Aker. William Jackson served in the 51st VA infantry during the Civil War, and on his pension application, he lists witnesses Winton Arnold and Andrew T. Aker, both of whom are stated to have known William Jackson most of his life.
