Just a few notes, Don. Mattie is indeed in the 1900 and 1920 Patten censuses. Don't have a death date for her, and I didn't see her grave there (and I transcribed every one in 2004) or a note in the town cemetery book about her. The 1900 census calls her husband "Samuel". I assume he "modernized" his name, since the census records the same children that you do. The 1900 census has "Lottie E.", b. Jun 1891. The 1920 census: "Charlotte", b. 1893. As you know, Patten is Magicland, where women actually grow younger with each census. This is a given. Further, "Martha K." (b. Nov 1898) in the 1900 census emerges as Eva M. in 1910. Go figure. Guess they're the same too. The men, however, rarely succumb to this. Notify Administrator about this message?
