Thomas Elwell in Rev. War

Couldn't post to individual messages so will do it this way. To: Geri and Jade.
In Ancestry.com - U.S. War Bounty Land Warrants, 1789-1858 I found warrant No. 695 for land warrant for service in the Corps of Artillary Artificer, Pennsylvania Line, during the Revolutionary War.....authorized 100 acres of land, etc. This is my proof that Thomas Elwell did serve in the Pennsylvania Line and that he was given the land through his service to that unit. He did file for pension which was for his service to the VA unit maybe, don't have anything that tells me that. I suspect you may be right Jade but no wonder we get confused when we see documentation like this.

Thanks to both for your help.

Ginny
