HI jade
Ok, here is the scoop. I have a photocopy of the complete file. I've had it for quite a few years. It gives his date of enlistment and discharge but does not say where he enlisted or where he was discharged. I know its the right gentleman, because I have done extensive research on his descendants, of which I am one. He married Phoebe Bartoo/ or Barton in Apr 1780. They had 10 children together. The second son and child was my grgrgrgrandfather.
I have thought for a great number of years he might have been born in New Jersey, but recently have come to doubt that. At least somewhat. What I actually am trying to find out is exactly where Col Polks regiment was on his enlistment date and am hoping that will help me determine where he was from originally.
Thank you for your reply!
carol
PS. I did try the website you suggested, just to see what if anything different there was, but I could not find the documents in question either.
