Carol,

It would have been a whole lot easier if you had said from the outset that your man served in Col. Polk's Regiment of NORTH CAROLINA Troops, which it says plainly on the file jacket, at least twice in his affidavits and also in correspondence. You still have not acknowledged that he is the one who applied in 1818 from Tioga Co, PA.

That information would have enabled a would-be helpful person to look at the pension application file to find the information you declined to divulge.

The records you seek will be in the North Carolina Archives. There may or may not be any places given in the roster records.

You can easily with an internet search find information on when the regiment was raised.
