My grandfather Wm. Kilmer (1890 - 1980) married Iva Myrtle Applegate (1890 - 1975) on May 23, 1910 in Newport, Campbell Co. KY. Her father was Thornton Applegate (1866 - 1943) who married Anna Enzweiler (1868 - 1937). I have trouble finding Thornton in any search. An old newspaper clipping (undated) about farmer Thornton Applegate being attacked by a copperhead snake has him near Brent, Campbell Co. KY. His obit names a brother William. A possible complication is mention made by my father's late cousin that a step-family was involved named Watson. Any help will be appreciated!
