Hi Lynn! Of course I remember you - it's been a long time! The Applegate line to Aaron is: Benjamin Applegate (d 1753; will probated in Burlington Co., NJ) m Elizabeth Morford > Daniel Applegate (d abt 1812 in Allegheny Co., PA) m Elizabeth Harvey (d 1816 in Allegheny Co., PA) > Aaron Applegate (1768-1848) m Mary Taylor (d 1840). It's possible I'm missing a generation; Benjamin appears to have been about 56 years old when Daniel was born.

Aaron and Mary Taylor Applegate had a large family: Elizabeth, m James McClure; Jesse m Susan Kerr; Lucy m David Crawford; Isaac m Sarah Davis; Daniel m Elizabeth Sherrick; Sarah m Daniel Yant; Mary m Reuben Case; Aaron Harvey m Cassandra Porter; Eleanor m Henry Lutes. The 6-year-old Sarah Lutes living with Sarah and Daniel Yant in the 1850 census may have been Eleanor's daughter.

I don't know about Charles being part of Daniel Yant's name. In all references to him I've seen so far - including the name he gives in his will - he is simply Daniel Yant. I've not yet proved his parentage, but evidence points to his being the son of Valentine and Louisa/Lovina Yant, who lived in Nottingham Twp. Valentine and Louisa/Lovina both died in 1845 and are buried in Pigeon Creek Cemetery. James Newton Hammett, another cousin of ours, has posted on the Yant surname board a number of messages containing information he has collected about the Yant ancestry.

Here is Aaron Applegate's will:
