The web site was set up by myself and K. Appelget who is the current Applegate historian. K took over from Hugh Voress who after 30 years of researching decided to pass the responsibility on.
I will personally guarantee that as stated on the site no information will be sold or used for any purpose other than Applegate genealogy.
We are not looking for any information that could be used to steal identity. No addresses, social security or etc.
The whole purpose is to further the Applegate history and genealogy. Nothing more or less is involved.
We are looking for the stories and history of the family as a way of passing this on to future generations.
If you've researched the Applegate clan you already know information doesn't always come easily.
Historians who preceded us have spent many thousands of hours and substantial personal expense in accumulating these records.
We are offering the full CD free (about 5000 pages) just for submitting your own Applegate family information.
I am 55 and K about 71 years old. We have no need to do harm or misuse the information given to us. Besides, I am easy to find if what I were saying was not true.
The web site was set up only to facilitate getting new information that will be added to the database. We feel it is important to future generations to know their family history and have a sense of continuity with the past.
Please feel free to ask any additional questions or if my answers have reassured you, submit your own Applegate research and have it added to the database.
We will send you a free CD with your own Applegate information added and instructions on how to quickly locate your own branch.
