Benjamin C. Ashby s/o Tinson/Tinsen Ashby

Numerous online trees list Tinson/Tinsen Ashby (b. abt 1772 in Shelby Co., KY) as the father of Benjamin C. Ashby (b. abt 1796 in KY). However, either no sources are listed, or the sources listed are LDS ancestral files which vary greatly in their accuracy.

Does anybody have a historical source for this connection?

From Tinson, it appears that there might be connections that go 5 or so generations further back. However, outise of the Reese book, I am not sure of these sources either.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I descend from Benjamin C. Ashby.
