John's father's name was Jasper and he was born 4/22/1881 in Missouri, probably Knox Co., on his wwI draft registration he lists his wife as Lula but it's Inez in the 1920 and 1930 census. Jasper died in June 1966 in Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington. Jasper's census records indicate his father was born in West Virginia and his mother in Iowa. This could be wrong.. West Virginia wasn't even a state until 1863 so that could be wrong. He may be a descendant of Capt. Thomas via Thomas Jr., William Wilton Ashby, Nathan SR, Nathan Jr. Jasper b circa 1854 to him..it's worth checking out.
