Pauline
I have the Ball Family book suggested to you by David Ball. It is an excellent resource and very well researched and referenced. If you go to their website www.ballfamilyofthepotomac.com you will find alist of all the libraries that have a copy of the book. DAR library has one if you ever go there.

Bennett Ball and his wife Nancy are discussed on pp 128-129 and again on p 156. What revolutionary patriot line are you trying to prove? I am a DAR on another line working on my Ball for a supplemental. He has led me on a merry dance but I think I have him cornered now. If you are a descendent of this Ball line we are distant cousins.

Here is the info on p 156: " Bennett Ball (Moses, Moses, John, James) b. June 5, 1790 Fairfax Co. VA, d. abt. 1855 Madison Co., AR m. abt. 1805 Hawkins Co., TN + Nancy Bailey b. abt. 1790 Hawkins Co., TN, D. Aug 8, 1846 Wesley, Madison CO., AR da. of John Bailey & Sarah Minton." Then on p 157: "Nancy Ball (Bennett, Moses, Moses, John, James) b. abt 1811 Harlan Co., KY, d. 1879 San Marcos/Escondido, San Diego Co., CA, m. abt. 1830 + William Creech, b. abt 1811 Harlan Co. KY" Then there is a listing of the birthdates of 6 children for Nancy & William Creech: "Bennett b. Sep 2, 1832, Harlan Co., KY; John, b. abt 1835 KY; Sarah, b. Oct 18, 1836, Harlan Co., KY; Joannah, b. abt 1839 AR; Mary, b. abt 1841 AR; & Samuel H. Walker, b. abt. Mar 26, 1850 AR."

The autors of the book reference another book on p 314, about the Bennett Ball family that may help you if you have not already seen it entitled, "The Family of Bennett Ball: Harlan County, Kentucky to Madison County, Arkansas and Allied Families - Creech, Gray, Lewis, Masters, Shumae, Sisemore (Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, by Marian Carter Ledgerwood, 1991).

Hope this helps.
