Has anyone gone into DAR on the Ball ancestor prior to Bennett you are connecting to? Sometimes there is proof in the ancestor files in Washngton that can help. I have used them and they can be very helpful (or not) - they pretty much saved everything and are now digitizing it so it can be easily accessed when there. While they may not accept the book if you talk to one of the genealogists at national headquarters they may be able to give you some ideas on where to go next. We have found them to be very helpful. Also the DAR has "field genealogists" who are women who have gone to classes at national to learn to help people with these kinds of questions. The state level DAR organization in you states should be able to give you the names of some women who could help. It is amazing what they can come up with sometimes.
