Barum Family

I don't know for sure if my family dropped the "n" in the
middle of the name Barnum or not. My clan as far as I know
have always spelled their names Barum. Does anyone know if the "Barnum" family includes any of the "Barum" family members? I'm sure having trouble finding current family members with our spelling. We are now few and far between. Just thought I'd ask if any of the Barnum family
had information on this spelling. I know there is a Barum
Family Circus in Germany. I wonder if the "n" was added to
your family name upon arrival in the U.S.? The people taking names on arrival wrote it down as they heard it. I'm
sure that if it is a German name the "n" was pronounced and
probably added to the spelling. My second great grand- father immigrated from Wales and perhaps pronounced it
different than the Germans.

Any information provided would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Debbra Barum
