I have one William Henry Harrison Barnum who died at the Siege of Petersburg. He was from the general area you indicate. Prior to the war I believe he lived in Sunfield, Eaton County, not too far from your grave site location. Not sure how he would have gotten to South Lyon after death? I actually have a copy of a letter written home by a comrade in arms telling the family of the death of Harrison as he was known to his friends. He was born on June 22, 1846, enlisted in the army on March 26, 1864 and was killed on August 19, 1864. He was the brother of my wife's great grandmother, Polly Eliza Barnum. There are a few more facts I could check to get us closer to an answer. Please write and we'll see if we can put your stone with my Harrison? I'd like a picture of the marker also if it can be made available. Thank you! TimG
