He married Julia Phelps on 15 Mar 1805 in Barkhamsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut. Julia was born 25 Jan 1789 in Connecticut. She died 2 Mar 1875. They are both buried in New Berlin, Chenango County, New York.
In the obituary of Christopher Bassett Jr., it mentions that he was survived by six sisters and two brothers.
