James Bassett, son of Joseph and Judith (Leonard) Bassett, was born about 1768 in Taunton, Massachusetts. He died in Livermore, Maine in 1797. He married Anna (Walker) Durgin, widow of Silas Durgin, daughter of Joseph Jr. and Elizabeth Walker. He moved from Raynham, Massachusetts to Livermore, Maine in 1795. Anna was born 5 Sep 1755 in Bilerica, Massachusetts. She died about 1817, aged 61 years. She had married (1) Silas Durgin on 15 Jun 1780 in Conway, New Hampshire.
