Interesting problem ... but I can't be of much help. There was a couple named Henry and Ann Basset in Steeple Barton, Oxford, who had a number of children christened there between 1801 and 1820. However, it would not seem as though they were identical to Benjamin's parents, because they had a daughter (Elizabeth) chr. 8 March 1807. Unless she was already more than an infant when her christening occurred, it does not seem logical that they would have had another child born & christened later that same year.
