Thank you for the reply to my post. I own Mr. Williams book and I am very familiar with Solomon Batchelor and his family. I descend twice from Jesse Batchelor and have been doing extensive research on the Batchelor family of Putnam County, Georgia for the past 15 years. I have a question regarding George's middle name. I don't believe it was Washington. On a document at Putnam County Courthouse concerning the mental state of Sarah Reynolds Batchelor (Blakey's wife) there is a signature for a G.R. Batchelor and a J.B. Deloach. The J.B. Deloach is Sarah's son-in-law, Joseph B. Deloach. I believe the G.R. is her son George R. Batchelor. I also believe his middle name is Reynolds after his maternal grandfather, George Reynolds. I do know on a later census record, George is listed as George Washington Batchelor, but I believe this to be a mistake. As for the children, What I am really confused about is where are his first set of children by his wife, Sidney Frances Ward? I don't know if George Washington Batchelor is different from the son of Blakey? Thank you again for your help.
Lisa
