My Great-grandmother was Margaret May BROWN, nee BATCHELOR.
It is not clear, but her birth record shows she may have been born in 'St Lawrence, USA' 13.01.1881. The address looks like 10, Fives - or Fires - Caves (?) although she was registered in Southampton, Hampshire, England.
Her parents were Thomas - sometimes shown as Thomas K BATCHELOR and Fanny - nee RUSSELL. He is shown as born approx 1852 in Southampton, she was born approx 1857 in Devon (Lyme Regis?).
Other children listed are: Annie, Frank, Rose, Walter, Albert, Bertie.
Fanny may have had a sister Annie, born approx 1864 in Botley, Hampshire.
I cannot find reference to Fanny, Thomas or Margaret on the 1901 census and wondered if they may have returned to the USA.
Margaret married Harry John BROWN in Christchurch, Dorset - then Hampshire - England in 1904.
Any info regarding their time in the USA or any other info would be gratefully received.
