I suspect that the Richard Batchelor that you seek is Richard Batchelor, Jr, son of the immigrant. After the death of the immigrant, Richard Bachelor, his wife, Anne Biggs, married James Fewox in 1688 and in 1694 they moved to Chowan/Tyrell Co., NC. I show that Richard Jr., b. about 1670, Lower Norfolk Co., VA, d. December 6, 1720, NC; m. Katharine Garner and had a son Richard, III.

Richard, Jr. had a nephew, Edward, Jr., who owned a shipping company with docks on Batchelor's Bay and offices in New Bern, Craven Co., NC (and stores in Philadelphia, "the Jersies", and on the Susquehanna river in PA). Edward, Jr., died in 1877 leaving a wife, Frances, and four minor children. I have never been able to trace Richard, Jr., or Edward's children but suspect they went to nearby Duplin/Onslow counties since I have a list of Batchelors there from the mid-late 1800s that I cannot explain.
