I am glad I could be of some help Frank. As I am sure you are aware, when a slave owner died they normally listed slaves in their Last Will and Testament by name and passed them on to their children. In this way, Thomas Aggrippa, Sr. would have brought his slaves from NC to Amite Co., MS, and then would have passed them on to the children that I mentioned who settled in LA, MS, and AR.
It appears to me that, just as we trace our white ancestors, African American slave ancestry may lead a parallel course--perhaps as far back as the 1700s. It is also possible that John and Alexander Batchelor who travelled from NC to GA and then to TN could have had members of the same NC slave families with them. If you check "anywho" on the internet you will find a number of Batchelors in Madison and Haywood county, Tennessee. I have written to several but got no reply. I found later that most are AfroAmerican and I believe that one is a professional basketball player. Perhaps you could make contact with them.
Good luck and please keep me informed--we are still all family. My Email is bachlor@cox.net.
