After a recent trip to Perryville, Perry Co., AR, I found some information regardng my Murphy family at the courthouse. Among the information found, I located the full name of Retta, written in the old deed books.
Her full name was Nancy Arretta Batchelor and apparently she was unable to write so she made her "mark" on the documents I have copies of. According to the 1900 census record for New Tennessee Township, Perry Co., AR I already had, Retta and Uncle Tom had one daughter, Ivey C., b. January 1898 Perry Co., AR. Retta was b. March 1878 AR and her father b. NC-mother b. AR.
I would like to know if there were other children born to Uncle Tom and Aunt Retta, along with other family information.
