Ray: Hello, and thank you for your posting, however, I found out early this year that my g-grandpa's brother married Nancy Batchelor, so I have very limited information on this line. After finding out about this Murphy/Batchelor marriage, I posted an inquiry and a lady responded giving me Nancy's parents William 1839-1849 from Nash Co, NC and Mary E. Shook. Wm was the s/o Joseph R "JR" 1814 who was the s/o Wright Stephen. After getting your response to my posting, I went into the Batchelor genforum to get the person's name who gave me this information, but I cannot locate the message I posted or the lady's response! She had gotten this info from a Batchelor Family History book. My Murphy family were living in McCool Township, Perry Co, AR during the 1880 census. The person who gave me the info stated that Wm Batchelor-head, Mary E.-wife, Stephen-son and Nancy Arretta-daughter were living a few families down from my Murphy's. When I looked at the copy of the census record I had, I did find that they were on there during 1880. Right now I am not much help with the Batchelor line. During the summer, it's a little harder for me to do research at the library when you have active children around. When school starts back up, I will be able to spend more time researching. Meanwhile, I will try to locate the posting when I was given that information about Nancy being the daughter of William Batchelor of Nash Co. Get back with you soon, Cheryle Notify Administrator about this message?
