Hi Philip.....I also am researching the BATCHELOR name. This is my husbands family. I am not sure if you are aware there is a book called THE BATCHELOR NAME, written by a Lyle Keith Williams. I am telling you this because in the book I have come across the name AQUILLA....I will have to relook for it, as this book is very large and very in depth with some of the BATCHELOR names, it might take me a little while to find.
If you have any info on a SAMUEL RUEBEN BATCHELOR that married ALICE BROWN. I have no dates for the birth or marriage and the date I do have is for Samuels death....which might be abt 1921. Samuel and Alice had 2 sons....RUSSELL BATCHELOR and JAMES BROWN BATCHELOR. Info I have is that Russell died at a very early age, and James was my husbands father. Russell and James were born in PA. So this means Samuel and Alice moved there sometime before 1914, which is when James was born. I do not have a date for Russells birth, but my husband seems to think he was older than James.
So, if you have any info about this BATCHELOR line, please e-mail me at evelpixy@aol.com.
Thank you,
Liz Batchelor
