Hi Roy - I too am at a road block with my John Marion Beals but I find it interesting that the siblings names you have for Sam match my names I have for John so maybe we can make a connection some how as I find that in my family everyone is named after someone. I have a sheet written by my Great Grandmother that says John's brother and sisters are Sam, owned a foundry at Jameston N.Y., Hibb or Herbert was a conductor on railroad and sisters names wer Polly and Caroline. I have yet to find anything on them John was born 1828/1831 in Gowanda N.Y. John married Sarah Crandall in 1848. They had 5 children: Adelbert Marion, Roy, Adella, Herbert Harvey, John Oliver. I have info. from research that would say Joseph Beals and Mary Benton are his parents but nothing else - wondering if Sam and Joseph might be brothers.
