John B. Beck, son of Ebenezer and Sophia Beck, was born in Dumfries, Scotland, in 1827. He came to America in 1833, and located in Upper Canada. In 1835 he removed to Wheatland,Monroe Co., NY, in 1837 to Sheldon, NY and in 1854 to the southeast part of Bennington, Wyoming Co., NY. He is engaged principally in dairy farming. March 28th, 1849, he married PHEBE L THOMAS, daughter of Ira and Phebe Thomas, of Sheldon, NY.
