The Rev. Gene Kroger will officiate in the Randall Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Lunch will be served at 2nd Street Diner following the service at the ceremony. Pianist will be Patti Beck and soloist will be Gary Randall. Garnett Beck was born Jan. 20, 1919, to John Henry and Ida Mae (Arltip) Beck. She grew up in Madison, where she attended school. She married Odell Williams in 1938; they later divorced. She married John J. Class on Aug. 27, 1974. She was a former member of Madison United Methodist Church and Hope Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include her husband, John of Kingman; a son, Lynn Williams of Winfred; a stepdaughter, Deborah Smith of Sioux Falls, a stepson, Jeff (Debbie) Class of Upland, Calif.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Taylor Beck and Leslie (Jenetta) Beck, both of Madison; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and seven brothers and sisters. The Randall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Edith Beck By: 05/31/2005 Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wed., June 1, for Edith M. Beck, 99, Madison, who died May 29, 2005, at Bethel Lutheran Nursing Home. The Rev. Marilyn Spurrell will officiate in the Randall Funeral Home, and burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Pianist will be Patti Beck, and soloists will be Gary Randall and Katie Beck. Lunch will be served by the VFW Auxiliary following the burial. Visitation is Tuesday with the family present at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a Hope Rebekah service at 7:30 p.m. Beck was born Jan. 6, 1906, near Decatur, Neb., to John and Ida (Artlip) Beck. She moved with the family to the Madison area, where she graduated from Beadle High School in 1924. She attended Eastern Normal School (now Dakota State University) and earned her teaching certificate. She taught rural school for a period of time and later moved to Kansas City, Mo., where she attended nursing school and then worked as a private duty nurse. She returned to Madison in 1986. She was a member of Madison United Methodist Church and church circle, and a 75-year member of Hope Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include two brothers, Taylor Beck and Leslie (Jeanette) Beck, both of Madison; a sister, Garnett "Dottie" (Jack) Class of Kingmon, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as six brothers and sisters. The Randall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Leslie Beck Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Fri., Sept. 14, for Leslie K. Beck, 94, Madison, who died on Sept. 10, 2007, at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls. The Rev. Dr. Marilyn Spurrell will officiate in Madison United Methodist Church, and burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military honors by the Madison VFW and American Legion. Organist will be Sue McNeil, and soloist will be Robert Ellsworth. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday, with a public masonic service at 7 p.m., at the Ellsworth Funeral Home. The family will be present following the service to greet friends. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Beck was born on Feb. 24, 1913, at Madison to John and Ida (Artlip) Beck. He graduated from General Beadle High School in Madison and joined the S.D. National Guard in 1930. He married Mary Bidwell on Sept. 8, 1934, at Flandreau. They lived in Madison, where he worked for the Milwaukee Railroad. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. His wife died on Aug. 6, 1973, and he retired after 30 years of military service. He married Jeanette (Jacobson) Pinkston on Oct. 7, 1978. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite, Elks Lodge, AARP, Interlakes Senior Citizens, Town & Country Squares and Retired Federal Employees. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette of Auberry, Calif.; a son, Dudley (Norma) of Madison; a daughter, Sharon Brown of Houston, Texas; 15 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; a brother, Taylor of Madison; two stepsons, Tom (Cheryl) Pinkston of Boise, Idaho, and Larry (Lucy) Pinkston of Los Angeles, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Dorothy (Tobe) England of Helendale, Calif., Delores (Earl) Dunn of Auberry, Calif., and Linda (Ron) Lucas of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 19 stepgrandchildren; 36 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; three brothers, Harley, Merle and Lloyd; and five sisters, Ruth Wood, Iva Pettit, Edith Beck, Garnett Class and Shirley Halseth.
