BEESON,, Catherine
September 4, 1909 -
February 22, 2005
Our family matriarch passed through to continue her voyage.
Predeceased by husbands Fred Duke and Jack Beeson, granson Terry and great grandson John Morgan. She leaves behind her son Roland Duke (Jean) and daughter Anne Louise Lamont as well as grandchildren David Lamont (Jeannie), Richard Lamont (Jennifer), Gordon Duke (Dorothy), Glynnis Duke (Stephan) and Megan Duke (Dana), the great grandchildren who lost their beloved G.G., Jakob, Rieley, Jack, Sawyer, Sarah, Ryan, Rhianne, Connor, Fergus, Kellan, Logan, Britney, Ryland and Justin. Also granddaughter in-law Rhonda (Pete).
The lives of all her extended family and friends were enhanced and made richer by her wise counsel, love of life’s simple pleasures, hearty chuckle and community commitments. Many families in Youbou (1939-1960) and Saltair (1960-2005) will remember her involvement with the start-up of Youbou kindergarten and numerous other endeavors. While Saltair and Chemainus residents may recall her days as “The Cookie Lady” in Chemainus Hospital kitchen as well as the organizer of meals on wheals in the area. The family extends their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Brewer as well as Claude and Marie Burroughs and Anne Louise Lamont for their compassionate care as mom took her final steps on life’s journey. No service by request. In lieu of flowers plant a tree or shrub or make a donation in mom’s memory to a charity of your choice.
