Hi, Fredric. When I see a family containing two children of the same name, often then called "the elder" and "the younger", I tend to be suspicious that someone has loaded upa family with all the eligible people in the vicinity, since generally, people give their children different names in order to tell them apart.

I have enormous respect for your methodical research and passion for accuracy, so if Beeson had an older and younger Thomas, I'll take your word for it.

But do you have a clue why? Why would someone give the name Thomas to two sons? Did the elder die in childhood before the birth of the younger? Was there some other reason? If you have any thoughts, I'd certainly appreciate hearing them!
