I'm tracing my mothers line and have run into a wal.
her gg grandfather: Clark bowen b 1847 Ohio Morrow county
Clark's parents were:
William bowen b 1796 PA
Mercy (???) b circa 1809 in PA
Apparently both prent died inteh 1850's and the family ws scattered
I have gerat deal if info on their other children if you wnt to read on
Children of William Bowen and Mercy:
1) Mary b 1835 married John Crothers c. 1857, 3 small children and then she as widowed by the Civil War
2) George b 1857 served inteh Civil Wr, was dischrged wounded
3)(Danforth) Stiles b 1839 killed on Shermans' March to the Sea in n. Alabama
4) Samuel b. 1841 unknown
5) James B. b. 1843 served in Civil War, was captured and tortured at Andersonville and wws released "on parole" where he died in Wilmingotn NC
6) William H. b. 1845 unknown
7) Clark b. 1847 lost in 1860 census but back in Ohio in 1870 census. Married in NY and settled there for the rest of his life.
HELP !!!! Where did William come from nd hat is Mercy's maiden name????
