I have found my family's names spelled all these ways but they originally came from Ireland. This is what I know. Mary O'Bryan was in Buckingham Co at the same time as my Patrick. I believe she to be his daughter or sister. Mary O'Bryan and John Chastain were married in 1765 in Buckingham Co, VA. My ggggg-grandfather was a (William?) Patrick O'Brien, died in Buckingham in 1794, M: Juda Adcock. His son Glenn O'Brien, B: 1787 D: 1832, His son Frank Allen aka Francis Kirkpatrick O'Brien M: Judith A. Forbes abt 1842. He was born 1-20-1807 and died 6-5-1896. His son John Harrison O'Brien born 1845 and died 1931. His daughter Lula Moorman O'Brien who married Peter Henry Chernault in 1892. They were my g-grandparents. Patrick O'Brien was granted 400 acres in Buckingham Co, VA on 30 August 1744 and 400 on 20 August 1747. On a Buckingham Deed dated 12-15-1755, he owned 2150 acres of land. His other sons were Patrick, Jr., Mark and William. Patrick and Matthias O'Brian are listed a Va Tithables in Buckingham in 1773. We believe Matthias is the brother of Patrick and moved to Bedford Co shortly after 1773. If any of this sounds familiar or you would like to share information, please contact me. Thank you.
