There is a good possibility that the name is actually "Brister." Many individuals of the Bristow family changedtheir names to Brister. Often "Bristow" was spelled "Bristo" or "Bristoe." I have, however, found an early line of Bristers in that part of Virginia. If I'm not mistaken, Lucy Brister was the daughter of Thomas Brister, who was formerly from York County (probably Williamsburg), Virginia.
