Ira M. Bounds b abt 1855 SC m Willie Margaret Bristow b abt 1857 SC; dau of Horatio Nelson Bristow and Virginia Willis. They had 9 chldren who m into the Woodle, , Stephens, Weaver, Hamer, Mendenhall, Sullivan families. Ira's parents are James S. Bounds b abt 1818/20 SC/NC and Obediance Rasco b abt 1826/28 SC. My roadblock is in finding James' parents. I heard that his mother could be a "Thomas". Per 1860 Bennettsville, Marlboro Co, SC Census: neighbors included a Rebecca Thomas (wd) b abt 1793 SC along with her son Samuel and his wife Hannah, and several Parker children. Possibly this Rebecca could be an aunt of James and Ira. Also, I cannot for the life of me figure out James' father.......indeed, the Boundless Bounds!! I would cherish any little tibit of info.
