James E. Brockway, Jr., 87, a former resident of Fort Edward, died Friday, January 18, 2008 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Facility. Born August 22, 1920 in Thomson, NY he was the son of the late James E. and Eunice Flanders Brockway, Sr. He was one of 18 children. Mr. Brockway retired in 1985 from the Cornwall Paper Co. in Newburgh, NY. He enjoyed bowling. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Glennie McLouth Brockway; 4 brothers, Roy, William, Edward, and Lewis; 3 sisters, Margaret Sanders, Lois Woodard, and Phyllis Barber; and 1 grandson, Eric Scott Brockway. Survivors include 3 sons, Larry and his wife Nancy of South Glens Falls, Linden of Fort Edward, and Daniel and his wife Dale of Sebring, FL; 3 brothers, Raymond of Fort Miller, John of Florida, and Mark and his wife Annette of Argyle; 7 sisters, Flora King of Waterbury, CT, Madeline Salls of Fort Miller, Ethel Loomis of Victory Mills, Beverly Brousseau of Waterbury, CT, Joan Provost of South Glens Falls, Arlene Loomis of Victory Mills, and Linda Fish of Fort Miller; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Schuylerville United Methodist Church, Church Street, Schuylerville, NY, with Rev. Bonnie Bates, officiating. Spring burial will be in the Bacon Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10-11am prior to the service at the church. Following the service, everyone is invited for refreshments and a time of fellowship to be held in the church hall.
