Henry J. Raymond
Posted by: denise (ID *****9887) Date: May 19, 2008 at 12:57:52
  of 1887

what is the correct lineage for Henry J. Raymond?
Elisha and Abigail couldn't be his grandparents if Charles was Lavinia's father?

The Halls of England:
Elisha Brockway and Abigail Hall settled in Lima, Livingston Co., New York and were the grandparents of the later Henry J. Raymond, who established and conducted the New York Times, and was elected and served one term as Lieutenent Governor of New York.

The Raymond Families of New England compiled by Samuel Raymond
1886 on page 75; has that Jarvis Raymond married Lavinia Brockway daughter of Charles Brockway and had Henry Jarvis born Jan 24, 1820.
