Duane 'Duff' Brockway SUPERIOR - Duane "Duff" Brockway, 78, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003. He was born June 29, 1925, in Minneapolis to Charles and Mabel Brockway. At an early age they moved out west to Montana. Duff graduated from Superior High School and soon after went into the Coast Guard. On June 20, 1947, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Warnken, and they made their home in Superior for the next 56 years. They had two sons, Dennis and Jeff. Duane was employed by the Forest Service for several years, then by Diamond Match, where he retired. Duff was a longtime Lions Club member and was the main force behind the Superior Lions Club Rodeo and the design of the rodeo grounds in Superior. He enjoyed team roping, hunting, leather work and woodcrafts. Duff is survived by his wife Pat; sons Dennis and Jeff and wife Cathy; grandchildren Curt and Katie; a brother, Warrell "Blue," and wife Helen; and numerous friends and relatives. At Duff's request, there are no services planned. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Superior Lions Club.
