Thank you for responding to my post and taking the time to look into this mystery. I did some more searching in the 1870 Census and found another Ordalie Broussard. Her husband Emile Broussard is listed as Black and they appear to have three children and one adult teenager living with them. One of those children is very possibly Felix D. Broussard, because he is 14 in this census. His name is Neuville, another name he is known to use. I am trying to find them again in another census or in close proximity to other family members. The strangest finding is that Ordalie is listed not as mulatto, but as white. Although we have more than a few European males in our family line, we have yet to find a European woman, nor is there any oral history of her. I will take your advice and see what I can find in Church records. Hopefully I can do this from California, because I do not live in Louisiana. Thanks again.
