We want to know how to correct records which we know are wrong...My mother in law is listed in the baptismal records with wrong parents. Her birthdate, godparents, etc is all correct, but somehow these odd names were substituted for her real parents. We filed an affidavit correcting the baptismal records and signed by her sister and sister in law, at the church. What else, if anything, can we do...incidentally the names of her parents, where they are listed (school records, SocSec. application, Voting reg., etc.) are almost all misspelled. We can't get a 'delayed' birth certificate because of that...She is Leonie Broussard Dugas, dtr of Despanet and Amelina Rodrigues Broussard.
