However, it looks like the information that you are looking for precedes the census. It is possible that some of the information might be found in church records. I think that there are some databases out there that you can gain access to (for a fee). I am very interested in this book about Josiah Brown that you refer to. Is this Josiah Brown the grandfather of Mary A. Brown and who was married to Rebecca Flower Porter? If so, I might have some information that might be of interest to you.
