To all individuals who believe they are descendants of Morgan and Martha Strode Bryan. Recent results of DNA testing through FTDNA, Bryan Surname Project, show that three Bryan males have very close matches at 67 markers. One of these individuals, Francis Martin Bryan of Missouri, is a documented descendant of Morgan and Martha Strode Bryan through their son Morgan Bryan Jr., and on down the line through Joseph, Enoch, Joseph Turner I, Joseph Turner II, and Felix Bryan. Martin Bryan is also a confirmed, documented descendant of Roger Turner I of Rowan County NC (Enoch was married to Jane Turner)and a descendant of Squire and Sarah Boone, through their daughter Elizabeth Boone Grant and her descendant Lydia Ann (Mason) Bryan, wife of Joseph Turner Bryan I. David R. (Randy) Bryan matches 65 out of 67 markers with Francis Martin Bryan, and Joseph Wheatley Bryan matches 66 out of 67 markers with Francis Martin Bryan. We are looking for other male Bryans, who believe themselves to be direct descendants of Morgan and Martha Strode Bryan, to participate in the Bryan Surname Project through Family Tree DNA. A profile of 37 markers is needed (preferably 67) to reveal truly meaningful matches. We are currently awaiting the 37-marker results for an individual in Missouri who believes himself to be a direct male descendant of Morgan and Martha's son William. Anyone interested in participating in the Bryan Surname Project, contact me at my email address: drb1944@yahoo.com. Or, contact Family Tree DNA on their website. David R. (Randy) Bryan
