Hello Family,
We are having a Family Reunion in New Bern, NC and hope to see the families that are related to the Beasley's of Beasley Island, Core Creek area, Craven Couty, NC. There were many Bryan family members who married in to the John Beasley's family during the early 1700's and many Bryan Cemeteries are located there today. If you are interested in finding your family connection to the Eastern NC Bryan Family of the 1700's, please join us in this reunion. If you are interested, we need to book a room with the Riverside Comfort Inn for the 10th -14th of October 2008, pretty soon. There is a Mumfest Festival taking place at that time and it will be a little hard to find a room if we wait to long. We have 25 rooms blocked so far and if we rent at least 16 rooms, we get the conference room at no charge. I was told that our prices will be blocked for 2 ˝ weeks and I am sure that they will extend a little time if needed. If you think that you would like to join us but may have other commitments, book the room and you can cancel if plans change. It would be really nice to see a good showing for our first reunion/gathering. Comfort Suites Riverfront Park (NC246) 218 E. Front St. New Bern, NC, US, 28560 | Phone: (252) 636-0022 Fax: (252) 636-0051 Reservations 1-877-424-6423 "Beasley Reunion"

The next thing that we need to do is call this reunion another name. In New Mexico , we have an annual Pow Wow with the different Indian tribes/pueblo's of the southwest and it is called the “Gathering of Nations”, so that each individual Indian Nation can be represented. We have so many surnames in our mix that it is not fair to call this a Beasley Family Reunion so we need to find another name for it. There has been a lot that has happened in the last week or so that I would like to share some of it with you.

First, a break through in DNA testing with three Beasley/Beezley family members/researchers that I have been lucky to get to know. I met Doug Beezley, in 2005 on the net and joined his yDNA testing group with Heritage DNA. After testing, we were off a few numbers in our results but I kept his results in my files. Recently, Joe Beasley of NC tested 25 markers with Family Tree DNA and David Beasley of Alabama had already tested with Family Tree DNA so I converted Doug’s numbers and compared with Joe Ashley Beasley Jr. and David Barnett Beasley and they matched. We have a linage that can be connected to living relatives and now they can work together to find the early American link. This is amazing. Doug’s family continued to keep the Beezley spelling of their name where many family members kept the Beasley spelling. It depended upon who was the clerk of records at the time, I guess.

Next, we now have a Beezley/Beasley site dedicated to all branches of these families so that anyone on the net that is looking into “Beasley Genealogy” can enter these words in to a search engine and it should direct them to that domain. Anton “AKA Tony Beasley” Anderssen purchased several BeasleyGenealogy domains and Doug Beezley purchased and started the site with http://beasleygenealogy.net/ Here is his invite e-mail:
“I invite you to visit http://beasleygenealogy.net/ and sign up for an account. Let me know of you have any trouble with it. Doug”
Thank you Anton, a Genius with a great sense of humor and Doug, a master at developing websites, family genealogy and a really good person. Next is some great news to share with my family. My beautiful wife Christine has been notified that one of the top Orthopedic Surgeons in New Mexico has accepted her case and we will see him on the 17th. It looks like she will need some form of hip surgery so this is a blessing to have a good doctor. I will keep you posted on her progress. She is my soul mate and hiking buddy which I am blessed to have. Please book a room in October and keep us posted on any new news.

Mark A. Beasley
