Only a Marriage License would tell if they were married.
A Ygene test will tell you if the Males testing come from
the same paternal line. You would need an autosomal test
to tell you if the male was your father or the female was
your mother. A Ygene tests the paternal dna passed down from the father to his sons to their sons and to their sons
etc. This would also be true of their brothers. The benefit is that it eliminates false paternity events, adoptions and name changes etc. This way 2 males can determine if they have a common ancestor or not. If NOT then no sense in further research. If the DO then you know
where you have to keep hunting to find that common ancestor. That is what we are trying to do with the Morgan Bryan Sr. Line, and more testers with documented lines are
needed to prove a couple of newly interesting developements.
