I recently came across the pages that were submitted by Rebecca Everitt and they are without doubt as correct as any that I have viewed in the pass. There is an error that I happened to notice that would lead others off course in their search of the children of Elizabeth Bryan Sasser. In the report she is listed as a granddaughter of Needham Bryan I or Sr. which she is. Born to Needhams' son William and his wife Elizabeth Smith. Elizabeth was married twice during her life-time. Her first husband was Col.Josiah Sasser....whom she had the children by that were given in the list. It states next that her second husband was William Blackshear but this is wrong. She married Col. William Blackmon of whom she borne to him two sons and a daughter. One son was named John and the other named William. John was born March 24th. 1787 in Johnston County,NC. The daughter they named Elizabeth. William would eventually move to Cumberland County, NC. while John would later marry and move to an area two miles east of Jonesboro,North Carolina in what then was Moore County but now is Lee County within the Sanford town limits. John would marry twice in his life-time. His first wife was Margaret McAuley who born him five children. His second wife was Candis Gunter, daughter of John Gunter. She born to John eight more children. One of the daughter's of John Blackmon and Candis Gunter..whose name was Susanna Blackmon was my great-great grandmother who married Warren Wicker..their daughter Nannie Catherine Wicker married Neill Archibald Stone and they had John David Blackmon Stone that married Georgia May Medlin and they Had my Mother Elizabeth Stone. Had I known that their were others that wanted the information on the Bryan family I could have provided the family bible that has a lot of information on the Family. It is a Family with a " noble heritage' that dates back to beyond the mid-evil times of the settlement of Europe thru the carnage of the christian crusades until the settlement of the colonies and the formation of the United States of America. Some can say it is a rich heritage of blood, sweat and tears,of good and bad..of religion and politics. To me it is my family and the times they had to deal with; MY ROOTS..Hello family...I've been looking and waiting to hear from you...!!!!!
