Shirley

John and Martha Butler must have lived in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, around 1759. Their oldest son. Copeland, was born 18 April 1779, their second son, Josiah, was born 30 July 1781, and their third son, Elisha was born 22 February 1785, and all three were born in Dinwiddie County. My reference is the Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, William Wade Hinshaw, p. 102, Black Water MM, Virginia, and p. 335, Walnut Ridge MM, Rush County, Indiana.

Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I have found three other Butlers with sons named John, but the wife's name is incorrect. These Butlers are: James had sons John,James, and Joseph;. William had son John, and Joseph had son John. All of this information was gathered from the Quaker Records.
