Page 83.

PETER BUTLER of Boston, son of Peter Butler of Boston, had, by wife Elizabeth Brown, daughter of Abraham Brown, sons Peter and John, born about 1691 or 2.
Peter's first child was born 1731-2, in Marlborough. John's first child was baptized 1727, in Hopkinton. He was of Framingham, and died 1747. Were Peter and
John brothers? Were they sons of the aforesaid Peter of Boston? Especially, who
were John's ancestors? J. S. RUSSELL. Lowell, Nov. 9, 1881
(JAMES SULLIVAN RUSSELL 1807-1903)

The above query was by my 2-great granduncle JAMES SULLIVAN RUSSELL the brother of my 2-great grandfather GEORGE WASHINGTON RUSSELL. This family was from Carlisle and lived in the same house there (originally it was in Concord) for 150 years.

J. S. RUSSELL was trying to find out who the parents were for LIEUT. JOHN BUTLER who d. in 1747, Louisburgh, N.S., and lived in Framingham. Here is family listing on this BUTLER family. My line comes down to me from JOHN/JOSEPH/JOSEPH/MARY. MARY BUTLER m. JAMES RUSSELL, 111, and was the mother of JAMES SULLIVAN RUSSELL, GEORGE WASHINGTON RUSSELL, EMERSON RUSSELL and MARY ANN RUSSELL.
