Thanks for your reply. Believe me, there are more Cabaniss people than you realize. I couldn't believe it either until I searched the websites. I have corresponded by email with many really nice people and they have been so very helpful in my search for ancestors. I use the sites ancestory.com, usgenweb, rootsweb and family search. org. Post a query like you did here and you will get responses. If you decide to call the lady in your area, just say you are searching for ancestors and family history. Most people are happy to discuss their heritage. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.
