My great grandfather was James Arthur Calicutt and he was adopted by W. B. and Minerva Lassiter when he was about 10 years old and his name was changed to Lassiter. I would like to find anyone who might know about his birth parents. I think the Lassiters may have lived in Montgomery Co., NC and then moved to Randolph Co., NC. My great grandfather is listed the 1900 Census as a boarder in the Lassiter household in Randolph Co., NC He was born in either 1881 or 1884.
